Oz Parks is a chain of RV Parks in Australia. One of their properties, Lane Cover River Tourist Park (in Sydney) was recently chosen as the 2008 Australian National Tourism Award for the “Best Tourist and Caravan Park”. We want to congratulate Oz Parks and Lane Cover River Tourist Park on the award. Check out their superb operations if you are ever traveling down under!
Australia’s Oz Parks are going above and beyond!
The Green Park scheme was launched in 2007 and sees Oz Parks as the first National Caravan & Tourist Park Chain to adopt such a program. For a park to be certified as a Green Park the operator must carry out set tasks in all of the five sustainability criteria, including; Green House Reduction - Water Conservation - Waste & Recycling Management - Habitat & Biodiversity - and Social & Community. We particularly wanted to include the the Social & Community section so as to educate others as to how they could reduce their Carbon Footprint and assist their environment and native fauna & flora habitat.
We are hopeful that the RV Park industry here in the U.S. can use this amazing program as a model for something similar.
